The Nine-Step Approach to Resource Efficiency

STEP 9: Reviewing Progress

Reviewing progress is an important element of a Resource Efficiency Programme. It is obviously important to assess that the proposed actions are being implemented in the way that they were designed and to assess if the targets are being achieved. It is also an effective way to keep all those involved motivated.

Constant reviewing of projects will identify any poorly performing areas (or very well performing areas) early in the programme so that corrective measures can be made in a timely manner.

Tip!
As we said earlier, the 9 steps is not a linear process, but a cyclical one. It goes on forever! Once the progress is reviewed, we can look again at more options, new targets etc.

Tip!
Communicating the actions and the results are vital to help keep people interested in the programme. This can be carried out in a number of ways depending on the organisation, event etc.
