STEP 3: Establish a Baseline/Set Goals

In order to measure the progress of greening an event or festival, we first need to know what is the current situation - or baseline. Then we can set our goals - what we want to achieve.

Tip! Baselines and goals can be quantitative (e.g. tonnes of food waste, numbers of bins etc.) or qualitative (e.g. use compostable ware, segregate food waste). NB: make your goals realistic!

Tip! When setting goals try to do one thing well - e.g. waste segregation, composting food waste, using compostable ware, using local produce, reducing transport emissions, etc.
